Dyspnea management guideline
The comprehensive Dyspnea Symptom Management Guideline offers evidence-based, practice-informed advice for those prescribing for adults with dyspnea related to advanced, life-limiting illness and for those caring for people living with pain.
New with this Guideline:
- A summary document outlining the key recommendations, with associated IDSA-ESMO Levels of Evidence and Strength of Recommendations.
- Links to specific education materials to support safe and effective pain management for the individual and their family.
Our collection of symptom management guidelines – for symptoms ranging from anorexia to twitching/seizures – offers healthcare providers an at-your-fingertips resource with best practices that are informed by evidence and endorsed by expert practice in palliative care.

Pall Ed BC Network
A collaborative space aimed to enhance educational efforts around BC and improve patient and population-level care.
Membership includes those from care settings not traditionally recognized as “palliative” such as acute medicine and surgery, to increase the spread of a palliative approach to care in all relevant care settings.
The network is intended for palliative care educators, clinicians with an educational role, faculty members of academic institutions, researchers, direct care providers supporting people with serious illness, health care students, and members of community organizations or private practice who provide education for health care providers on palliative care/approach.
Members of the Pall Ed BC Network have the opportunity to provide input to palliative education initiatives in BC, seek and provide feedback on other members’ projects, collaborate to decrease duplication and support mutual goals across organizations, as well as receive Pall Ed information and educational offerings.
