Consensus recommendations to support nursing practice
in home palliative care
BCCPC has released an expert consensus statement to guide nursing decision-making in the care of people receiving palliative care who need subcutaneous medications for symptom management at home.
Recognizing the essential role of family caregivers in cases where people living with serious illness are cared for at home, BCCPC convened an expert panel of nurses, prescribers, pharmacists, and family members with lived experience to create a consensus statement to address gaps in guidelines around preparation and administration of subcutaneous medication in home-based palliative care.
