Dementia Care in the Time of COVID-19

August 14, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PDT

Master Clinician Series

For family caregivers, navigating the complexity of caring for a loved one with dementia can be overwhelming during the best of times. A pandemic with quarantine for some, and little to no visitation for all, may push both the person living with dementia and their family caregivers over the edge, overwhelming the capacity of their resources. Media and information overload, fear, frustration, and anger can make day-to-day decisions difficult. Learning to adapt dementia care during these stressful times is a challenge, and requires some imagination and changes in the way we provide care. In this Master Clinician, Leslie Evertson and Dr. David Reuben will share tips on what to do—and what not to do—for people living with dementia, and family caregivers, during the time of COVID-19.

Presented by: Leslie Chang Everston, DNP, RN, GNP-BC and David B. Reuben, MD
