
All Together – Seeding and Connecting Compassionate Communities
The goal of Cycle 6 of our Seed Grants Program is to inspire and promote communities to develop vital hubs for information and care navigation, providing emotional, social, practical, spiritual, or grief and bereavement support for individuals and families in communities across BC.
The Seed Grant program supports community organizations to embrace the compassionate communities approach and develop innovative programs and services that support people affected by aging, serious illness, caregiving, grief and bereavement.
Applications are now open. Deadline: December 31, 2025
Grant Amount: up to $4500 per project
Grant Term: March 2 – December 31, 2026
Additional support: BC Centre for Palliative will offer expert guidance and consultation for implementation and evaluation; tailored coaching, mentorship and support; access to palliative care and health promotion experts; and networking opportunities to connect with other organizations.

Eligible applicants:
Applicants MUST be non-profit community organizations registered in B.C. Only one (1) application per organization is allowed.
Eligible project goals:
The aim of this grant is to assist non-profit organizations across the province to launch, adapt, or continue to deliver critical community‐based supports for individuals with serious illness, those approaching end of life, family caregivers, or those experiencing grief or bereavement, especially after a loss in a long-term care home.
Before you apply:
Read the Grant Guidelines as it provides important information about eligibility, target populations, funding priorities, application evaluation criteria, award restrictions, award disbursement, support and expectations for awardees.
Funding priority areas:
Preference will be given to projects serving rural (10,000-40,000 residents), remote (less than 10,000 residents), or Indigenous communities.
Eligible projects MUST address one of the following priorities for this funding cycle:
1. provide practical, emotional, social or spiritual support to the target population. For example: grief support workshops, social connection events, caregiver education, companionship and respite, or community service navigation.
2. enhance public awareness of and engagement in advance care planning. Organizations interested in advance care planning projects MUST complete the BCCPC’s training curriculum, use the toolkit for Community-led Advance Care Planning Sessions for the Public and offer at least three (3) sessions during the project.
