ECHO is a you-centred learning platform … and it’s FREE!

Looking for a way to make connections with others who support people experiencing life-limiting illnesses? Don’t have the time – or the budget – to attend a conference or other traditional training opportunities?

ECHO is the ideal combination of education, peer connection and collaboration … and did we mention it is free?

The BC Centre for Palliative Care is the provincial Hub for Palliative ECHO series and sessions. Since 2020, we have been co-creating timely, relevant, and engaging sessions in partnership with all kinds of healthcare organizations, and we are always looking for new partners who are interested in this unique learning platform.

If you have attended any of our current series you know how great these sessions can be. You’ll also know how well ECHO serves community organizations and healthcare professionals from rural or remote locations who may not otherwise have a convenient way to access training, or to share their unique knowledge and experience.

Content tailored for you

Guided entirely by the principles of inclusivity and creating a collective impact through collaboration and network building, the ECHO model is flexible and can fit whatever learning you need, or themes you identify. We want to support you in creating a FREE learning environment that is person-centred, empowering and connects you with both experts in the field and peers working every day –like you – to care for patients and families.

At the Centre, we walk beside you to create tailored content, rather than taking a top-down approach to determining what topics to cover. We support you by co-planning, co-delivering and co-evaluating the series. First and foremost, it’s YOUR ECHO – we support you by keeping the sessions on track, providing project management and administrative supports.

We would love to hear from YOU about your ideas for ECHO. An ECHO can be centred around a:

  • Specific subject, such as a particular condition, patient population or challenge (e.g., ECHO for cancer patients)
  • Discipline (e.g., ECHO for pharmacists, primary care healthcare providers, community support workers, or volunteers)
  • Geographic location such as a multidisciplinary ECHO that focuses on the context and location where care is provided (e.g., ECHO for care providers in rural or remote communities)
