SUMMARY:The Leader’s Role: Forging New Paths for Racial and Health Equity
DESCRIPTION:Organized by Center to Advance Palliative Care \nThe first six months of 2020 have presented unprecedented challenges to palliative care program leaders\, first with the COVID-19 pandemic\, and then with much-needed attention to racial injustice. Those two intersect when one considers the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on people of color. \nThis webinar\, part of CAPC’s leadership series\, tackles the subject of how palliative care leaders can reassess and strengthen their program’s response to racial inequity. Panelists will discuss how to understand and identify organizational issues and constructs related racism. They will outline actions\, big or small\, that programs and individuals can take to dismantle racism and promote health equity\, and invite participants to contribute ideas to this timely discussion. \nPresented by: Betty Ferrell\, Michael Fratkin\, Tammy Kang\, Sherika Newman\, Donna W. Stevens\, Jeanne Sheils Twohig \nAvailable for CAPC Members. To login and register click here.
