SUMMARY:Covid-19 Conscious Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC) Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Are you a care worker that faces the risk of violence during your work day? Do you have the tools and training needed to de-escalate unpredictable and potentially dangerous situations? \nInjuries arising from acts of violence or aggression are one of the leading injury–types among continuing care workers. These types of situations can often be avoided or managed by using current and leading-practice violence prevention skills and techniques. \nTaking a violence prevention workshop will help make you and your workplace safer! \nLed by an expert health care facilitator\, the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum\, delivered by SafeCare BC\, will teach you how to prevent and de-escalate potentially violent situations in the workplace and how you can protect yourself in the event of a behavioural crisis. \nThis session builds on concepts covered in the e-learning modules\, providing you with the opportunity to practice and apply your knowledge in various scenarios that have been customized for the continuing care sector. \nTo adhere to the PHO’s orders\, changes have been made to the course delivery and classroom protocol.
