Tele-palliative care and COVID-19: Connection at a Distance
May 1, 2020 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 am PDT
Centre to Advance Palliative Care’s (CAPC) virtual office hours are small-group consulting calls with leading subject matter experts. Experienced faculty will answer your questions on a wide variety of challenging topics. Stay on for the whole hour, or hop on, hop off.
This Virtual Office Hour is free and open to all, but space is limited. Sessions will be added on an ongoing basis.
This session will provide an opportunity to share information as it relates to technical assistance (e.g., virtual platforms, HIPAA considerations) and framing virtual encounters (i.e., an effective telehealth visit). Ask questions and discuss how to fully utilize virtual platforms, connect and ‘make the technology disappear’ when talking to patients, and bill in light of this public health emergency.
Questions during this session may include:
- What platforms and approaches are providers using with regard to providing an effective tele-palliative experience?
- How do I address communication challenges as it relates to connecting with patients over a virtual platform?
- What are the HIPAA considerations that need to be addressed with tele-palliative care?
