Seed Grants

Cycle 3 seed grant recipients announced

The BC Centre for Palliative Care has announced the grant recipients in the third funding Cycle of Seed Grants. The Centre is giving $119,858 to 25 hospice societies and other non-profit organizations from across B.C.  These grants will help the award recipients to improve access to compassionate palliative care closer to home and empower people to have a voice in their own care through advance care planning.

The seed grants program is designed to strengthen the role and develop the capacity of communities to become more compassionate and supportive for people facing serious illness, frailty or loss. In addition to funding, the program offers training and coaching, access to implementation and evaluation tools, and resources for eligible organizations.

The 25 award recipients were selected through a rigorous review process by a committee comprised of thoughtful individuals who come from BC communities and are free from conflict of interest with potential applicants.

Congratulations to the successful seed planters! We are excited at the BC Centre for Palliative Care to partner with the BC Hospice Palliative Care Association and each of the award recipients as their amazing projects unfold.
